The Center for Culture and the Arts (CCA) of Holy Cross of Davao College serves as the institution’s cultural heartbeat, committed to cultivating artistic excellence and cultural integrity rooted in the diverse traditions of Mindanao and the Philippines.
Vision
To be a dynamic hub for cultural empowerment and artistic formation that promotes faith, identity, and social transformation in Davao, Mindanao and beyond.
Mission
CCA develops culturally grounded, socially engaged, and artistically competent individuals and communities through education, creative expression, and cultural advocacy, in harmony with the vision and mission of HCDC.
Core Programs and Services
Performing Arts Training and Development Home to student-based cultural groups such as Sinag Culture and Arts Collective, Sinag Dance Sports, and Koro Krusyendo, offering workshops, masterclasses, and performance opportunities in music, dance, and theater.
Cultural Education and Capacity-Building
Conducts cultural workshops, community immersions, and symposiums that emphasize indigenous knowledge systems, artistic heritage, and intercultural dialogue.
Creative Production and Cultural Events
Curates original and collaborative performances, exhibitions, and campus-wide cultural celebrations aligned with academic, civic, and spiritual themes.
Community and Advocacy Engagement
Implements art-for-peace, cultural exchange, and development initiatives with Indigenous Peoples, Moro communities, HEI – Higher Education Institutions, and local and national government units to foster inclusive growth.
Heritage and Documentation Projects
Leads inclusive and community-based initiatives to document the cultural traditions, oral histories, rituals, and indigenous knowledge systems of Mindanao’s ethnolinguistic groups undertaken in close collaboration with cultural bearers, scholars, and students, integrating academic research with participatory methods.
